Before you can start driving you must have your provisional license. It currently costs £34 to apply online.

Your license becomes valid on your 17th Birthday when you can start lessons. You can apply 3 months before your Birthday.
We recommend that you do weekly lessons to make the most of the time and keep everything fresh in your mind each week.
You must pass your theory test before you can book a practical test.
You can start driving lessons whilst working towards your theory- in fact we would recommend it as you will be putting into practice what you are learning. We can also support you with practicing for your theory test.
The standard lesson time is 2 hours. We believe this is the ideal amount of time to get stuck into a new topic without being overwhelmed. Don’t worry though- we won’t expect you to drive non-stop. We do run longer/shorter lessons based on your preference- just drop us a message to discuss.
We will pull over to allow you to ask any questions and have a rest. Over time you will find it easier as you build up your driving stamina.
According to statistics from the DVSA, most new learners need 45 hours of professional tuition before they pass their test.
We here at AB Driving know that everyone learns at different rates. We will get to know you and your learning style to ensure that the time frame is in line with your expectations.

Your house, school, work- just let me know in advance of your lesson.
We will start off with a chat so Alex can understand your experience and knowledge and come up with a plan for the lesson.
If you have never driven before we will start by going through the basics that you need to know to move the car. We will head somewhere quiet and by the end of the lesson we will have you moving off and stopping and driving around a loop.
If you have driven before we will go for a easy drive so Alex can see what your level of driving is and then pick up from there.
